Street Survival Teen Driving School
Today I volunteered to chase down errant road cones for the
Street Survival course put on by the local
BMW club chapter that I'm a member of. It was only 10 degrees out there today, which turned the cones brittle. The kids were hitting cones constantly, and they shattered almost every time. I lost count at 40 fatalities:

Despite the carnage, the kids seemed to be having fun and got better as the day went on. With any luck, they learned a little too.

Cameras.
I wanted to do a comparison between my two cameras. Nikon D50 on the left, Canon SD800 IS on the right.

New camera!
I got a new camera tonight. Yes, I should be putting that money toward lights for the studio, but I'm tired of lugging my Nikon around everywhere and I wanted something small for Belize. Besides, Melba now inherits the SD300.

Ain't she purty? I could almost be a product photographer.
Of course I had to bring it to happy hour tonight to get my picture for today. Here's a shot of my good friend Cari. You can sorta see her boyfriend Chung in the beer mug's glass.

And here's a better shot of Chung. The man has fine taste in periodicals.

Less than 30 days from now, Melba and I will be enjoying the beaches of Belize with Chung and Cari. Can't WAIT.

A guest for dinner.
Melba's mom is in town from Florida, and tonight she came by to join us for dinner. Melba cooked up some delightful chicken fajitas while MelbaMom and I hung out in the living room.

Tech support.

Once in awhile I do a little tech support work on the side for friends, and tonight I was helping Patrick set up a second monitor and a few other goodies on his computer. He graciously provided beer and 'za too.

Lake and Hennepin
I took a different bus home from work today, one that involves a transfer at the busy intersection of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue. I had a little time to burn before the next bus, so I shot this pic:
