Steve, Steve, Steve.

I'm tempted to call this guy and fill him in on the typo - he had it spelled the same way on the other side of the truck, too.
I never said I'd post cerebral, artsy-fartsy pictures every day.

A dreary day in Minneapolis.
The building that my studio lives in has a neat little stairway up onto the roof, but the door leading out is usually locked. I noticed today that it was unlocked, so I popped out there with my camera. Too bad today was so dreary.

This shot is taken from the corner of Lake Street and Lyndale Avenue, looking east down Lake.

Work.
My cube, an ordinary outpost of mediocrity...

...in a vast ocean of sameness.

Studio.
When I was shopping for a studio, I saw this room I'm in now and knew it was perfect the moment I saw it. The building maintenance guys were busy painting and patching the stucco on this wall, and I told the leasing agent that I wanted them to stop immediately and leave that wall exactly how it is.

It makes a fun backdrop for messing around with the camera. Am I a narcissist for taking so damn many self-portraits? Probably.

And one more photo I shot the night of the 31st:

Quick note - I'm also mirroring these daily shots to Flickr so that any photo geeks out there can go see the EXIF data. Link on the right.

First *real* post.
I've decided to shoot at least one picture per day every day in 2007. To support the effort, I'll try to get them posted here on the same day, although I foresee a few instances when that might be tough. Without further ado, here are two I shot today.

This is Garfield Avenue, the street Melba and I live on.

This was taken in Painter Park, near our home.
As an added bonus, here's a shot I took last night when it was snowing.

Minneapolis' Finest.
The first post.
Ahh... the proverbial first post. I'll have a real photo taken today posted a little bit later, but I wanted to start off with a little slide show using pictures from my Flickr account.
