The awesomeness of Polaroid
For those of you reading this blog who don't know Mary Hartney, she's a blogger friend of mine (although we've never met) who also works for the Baltimore Sun. She just wrote a great article on the demise of Polaroid film and the enthusiastic cult following that has sprung up in the last few years. Go read!

I have an ancient Polaroid camera that takes little 3x4 B&W photos. Or used to anyway. I think they stopped making film for it about 30 years ago. I also have an old Brownie Hawkeye, which is very cute and boxy.
As long as we're on the subject, when are you going to do something with your photography?
I love those old cameras. If I had the money, I'd have a collection of great ones.
I can't decide what I should do with the stuff I've shot that I actually like. For now, it just sits on Flickr.
I have a Polarid One Step from my grandma from the early 80's. Took a lot of photos with that. Later, got a Polaroid 600, which I still take pictures now & then. Have it loaded now and a spare pack of film in the fridge. The film is overly expensive for what it is... but may have to stock up anyway.
Too bad they didn't make a B&W version of the film...
I knew that's where Mary worked, but I didn't know she WROTE there! Yay Mary! :-)
