I was just reading a blog where the blog owner has become pretty uppity about copying anything from his blog. As I was clicking around on the dude's site, I was trying to envision an instance where someone would want to copy anything on the site, and I just couldn't think of one. Not to say his blog is bad - it's pretty good - but why would someone want to copy it? IT'S A BLOG, for fck's sake.
I do hereby declare, everydamn thing on this site or in any other site I post content (Flickr, etc.) is copyLEFT. Go ahead! Steal it, bitches! I don't care!
If this blog ever gets popular (hah! that's just notgonnahappen.com), someone please shoot me if I start putting a crapload of ads in here and talking about myself like my sh!t doesn't stink.

Also? Copyleft? AWESOME! Yeah, let's not get too big for our blogging boots. :)
Maybe people are afraid that someone will steal something on the strength of which the thief will win one of those prestigious Best Blog awards that comes with a little jpg of a plaque. Oh no! My meaningless accolade!
Sometimes I think the purpose of blogging is to emphasize that people make me sad. I wish I could remember which blog it was where the author had a "READ THIS FIRST!" on her sidebar, and upon reading it, I was (a) instructed to read not just her posts but also the comments sections because she writes a lot of good comments that no one should miss, and (b) that if I choose to read her blog, I am required to leave comments and not merely lurk, as lurking is "cowardly" and "sketchy." Doesn't she just sound like so much fun?
nat: Damn! I've always had a sneaking suspicion that I'd reveal something about myself that will scare off all my (3) readers... but I didn't think my odiferous feces would be it. And I can't ever see myself taking this blog thing too seriously. What fun is that?
Regina: They give out Best Blog awards? With little jpg PLAQUES? Hmm. Maybe I need to rethink this copyleft thing. My blog needs more of that kind of prestige. I've often thought that the only writing of real value on this here blog is in the comments section - the stuff written by everyone BUT me. Maybe I'm just mean, but she does sound fun in that I could get a giggle or two out of leaving sarcastic comments thinly disguised as compliments.
